Time zone: Australia/Sydney
Reminder: 1 day before
Ends: 05:00pm (duration is about 2 hours)

Saturday 23rd October 2:45pm Swansea Pool, followed by Blacksmiths Beach 4:15pm.

Please abide by the current Public Health Order rules at the time ** Our first proficiency will be held for Nippers in Under 9s and up, focusing on competitors (particularly those who wish to compete at carnivals in November and December) but also for new members who may wish to commence board training if they pass proficiency.
(A second date will be held in November but has not yet been confirmed).
Nippers need to complete a pool swim (either on proficiency day or by submitting a coach signoff form prior to 22nd October) before they can attempt an ocean swim.
Nippers who wish to compete at any carnivals must complete both components to be deemed competition proficient.
Please see attached forms for further details including specifics distances / times for each age group.
~
Pool entry fees will need to be paid by each Nipper entering and spectator fees by any adult entering. Pool entry for anyone over 16 is as per the Public Health Order at that time, currently limited to those who are fully vaccinated. This is out of our control but we will have sufficient committee members and water safety on hand who are fully vaccinated. Annie (Junior registrar) will be set up outside the pool complex to verify your child’s enrolment and we will have people who can accompany your child inside if necessary.
~
We acknowledge and recognise that all of our Nippers have been disadvantaged by our
extended Covid lockdown this year and with the closure of swimming pools, cancellation of
lessons/squads and LGA restrictions.
Please note there will be additional proficiencies in November.
The proficiency is used as a guide to ensure our Nippers safety on beach days.
As a committee, we are planning how we can best help our Nippers to achieve their
proficiency throughout the season and your child will always be welcome to participate in
Nipper activities, either with one-on-one water safety or modified activities.
Please contact Annie at nipperrego@gmail.com or Jason
at redheadnipperspresident@gmail.com if you would like to discuss further
[Please note, our website will be updated with this information within the next 24-48 hours]
