Time zone: Australia/Sydney
Reminder: None
Ends: 02:30pm (duration is about 2 hours)

1pm Swansea Pool for PRELIM EVALUATION,
Followed by
3pm Blacksmiths Beach for COMPETITION EVALUATION (beach swim) 200m

It is a recommendation from SLSA that all Nippers complete a Preliminary Evaluation which is used a tool to gauge water safety requirements on beach days. It does not affect participation on Beach Days if your U6/U7/U8 Nipper does not complete their proficiency.

If your U9 – U14 Nipper does not pass their Preliminary Evaluation, it does not prevent them from participating in all Nipper water activities, it just means that we need to maintain a higher Water Safety ration when they are in the water on Beach Days and that they may have modified activities (eg a 50m swim rather than competition standard 150m-200m).
We encourage all Under 9 – U13 Nippers to complete their Preliminary and Competition Evaluations.
A child cannot attempt a Competition Evaluation (Beach swim) unless they have successfully completed their Prelim (pool) swim.

COMPETITORS PLEASE NOTE: If your child is in U11 to U14 and wants to attend a Carnival this season and particularly the first two events, being Fingal Bay (Water) Carnival on 15th October or Redhead (Beach) Carnival on 28th October, they must attend this proficiency as none of last years proficiencies will carry through and your child will not be able to be entered.
If your child is in U9 – U14 and wishes to attend ANY carnivals this season, it is recommended that they attend this proficiency as we have not planned a third proficiency.
A child must be COMPETITION PROFICIENT for all water events even if they only wish to compete in sand events.
